FIGURE 3 Tourniquet pressures at the start and end of each position interval.
(A) (B)
(C) (D)
(E) (F)
In each panel, the y-axis shows tourniquet pressure, and the x-axis indicates the limb position in each 5.0-second interval. The x-axis tick marks
are at 1-second intervals. The pressures shown are those for each triplicate for each individual during the 5-second intervals at each of the three
positions. The pressures during position changes are not shown. Each panel shows the relevant limb segment circumference data and has the same
recipient order and color. Each panel also shows p values for each recipient’s triplicate pressures (repeated measures) in each position interval. The
p values for time were all >.8412 (not statistically significant). (A) Sitting thigh application starting in the bent position. (B) Sitting thigh application
starting in the straight position (initial thigh occlusion pressure sitting starting bent, panel A, was statistically significantly different from sitting
starting straight, panel B, p = .013). (C) Laying thigh application starting in the bent position. (D) Laying thigh application starting in the straight
position (initial thigh occlusion pressure laying starting bent, panel C, was not statistically significantly different from laying starting straight,
panel D, p = .751). (E) Sitting arm application starting in the bent position. (F) Sitting arm application starting in the straight position (initial arm
occlusion pressure sitting starting bent, panel E, was statistically significantly different from sitting starting straight, panel F, p = .028).
