IMPACT 754 VENTILATOR: IN-FLIGHT EMERGENCIES
Failure Code 6
Suctioning for too long with inline suction and/or patient inspiratory effort is significant enough
to trigger.
1. Place the patient on BVM with O 2
2. Assess Patient
3. Cycle Vent “OFF” and “ON” (will have to reset Peep)
4. Check vent settings
5. Place the patient on a ventilator
Document all failures of equipment and solutions on DD Form 1380, DA Form 4700, and in the
Joint Patient Safety Reporting (JPSR) registry https://patientsafety.csd.disa.mil.
