MWD SHOCK FLUID THERAPY
         • Consider TXA 10mg/kg in 100mL NS or LR, IV over 15min but not later than 3hr post-injury
         • Targeted shock resuscitation end points
              ˚ MAP >65mmHg or a Sys >90mmHg
˚ Normal level of consciousness (LOC) and alert mentation
˚ Light pink-to-salmon pink MM and CRT <2 sec
˚ BP that is 60–90bpm at rest with strong, synchronous pulse quality
˚ RR at rest 12–40bpm with normal effort
˚ Once shock has been resolved, continue IV crystalloid fluids at 3–5mL/kg/hr for 12–24hr to
             maintain adequate intravascular volume.
         • Provide supplemental oxygen therapy.
         • Identify and treat the cause of shock. The cause of shock must be corrected, if possible.
                              Notes, Cautions, Warnings
         • WARNING: human blood products and albumin, or other animal blood products, must never
be given to dogs, given the high risk of anaphylactic reactions
         • Blood product transfusions for MWDs are only available from Veterinary Service Support
units, and their administration is only authorized under the direct supervision of a veterinarian.
         • Clinical target for resuscitation endpoint is a mean arterial pressure (MAP) of >65mmHg or a
systolic pressure of >90mmHg. Use neonatal or pediatric blood pressure cuffs.
