US 173rd Airborne Brigade trains with Portuguese 1st Paratrooper Battalion
in the Portuguese Army MOUT facilities. TCCC was a priority in this
cross training, with the Americans sharing with the Portuguese a lot of their
experience in combat. Portuguese Paratroopers are deployed to
Central African Republic and have been employed in several firefights
with insurgents and armed groups of the region.
