Hypothermia Management
Incorrect placement of the Hypothermia Prevention and Management Kit (HPMK):
■ Casualty not centered on litter.
■ Heater is not properly placed on casualty.
■ Blanket is not covering casualty.
■ Velcro is not sealed on the HPMK.
Correct placement of the Hypothermia Prevention and Management Kit:
■ Center casualty on litter.
■ Place heater on casualty’s torso.
■ Ensure all Velcro is sealed on the HPMK.
■ Place hood on casualty and seal Velcro straps around neck.
■ Before movement, secure casualty with litter straps.
